Michigan 64, Towson 47

ANN ARBOR (WWJ) - The Michigan Wolverines scored first and never looked back beating the Towson Tigers 64-47 on Monday.

As heard on WWJ  Newsradio 950 - No. 17 Michigan had a 19 point lead going into the half- the Wolverines scored 21 points before Towson ever got on the board.

Tim Hardaway Jr. led Michigan with 15 points, Evan Smotryca scored 13 points as did freshman Trey Burke who made his first career start - in a game the Tigers were never really in.

Speaking postgame Michigan head coach John Beilein talked about Trey Burke's work on the floor: "We like his progress, left him in as much as we could."

Beilein said he loved the way the team started the game, and noted that his team was a little 3 point happy in the first half.

Towson's Robert Nwankwo lead the Tigers with 16 points.

Michigan goes to 2-0 and will take on Western Illinois on Thursday. Tune in to WWJ Newsradio 950 at 8 p.m. for game action.
