Media Pros Hosting 1st Annual MediaProCamp
SOUTHFIELD - The Detroit Chapter of MCA-I (Media Communications Association International) is hosting its First Annual MediaProCamp on the campus of Lawrence Technological University.
The all-day event will bring students and seasoned professionals together for a series of breakout sessions on topics of discussion that are generated onsite in real time, with input from those seeking information as well as those ready to provide it.
Organizers say MediaProCamp is based on the tradition of the "Bar Camp". This "BarCamp" is an adhoc unconference born from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. It is an intense event with discussions, demos and interaction among attendees. Anyone with something to contribute or with the desire to learn is welcome and invited to join in.
"Presenters" act as hosts, moderators, facilitators and discussion leaders for a topic they have proposed.
Presenters are responsible for making sure that notes/slides/audio/video of their presentations are provided to be published on the web (send them to MCA-I) for the benefit of all and those who can't be present.
The first annual MediaProCamp is scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2011. Admission is free.
Anyone interested in attending or participating as a presenter, should contact Gary Shifflet, president of the Detroit Chapter of the Media Communications Association-International at 248-302-3904 or send an email to gary@kineticpost.com. More information on the event is available here.
