Informational Website For Immigration, Citizenship To Canada Crashes On Election Night

DETROIT (CBS DETROIT) - Within hours of the polls closing around the country -- with the electoral vote favoring Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump - the website for information on gaining citizenship and immigration to Canada has crashed.

Folks on Twitter debated in a mostly civil manner about the pros and cons of a move to our neighbors in the North.

Some pleaded with Americans not to consider moving to Canada -- mostly Canadians apparently. Others earnestly told people to stay and become educators -- teaching others to fight bigotry and hatred.

As Donald Trumps lead over Democratic rival Hillary Clinton increased with a handful of states in the balance the hashtag 'move to Canada' continued to trend.
