Fire Doesn't Stop The Show At AJ's Cafe
FERNDALE (WWJ) - A sour note for the ongoing concert in Ferndale to draw attention to the economic links between the auto industry and main street.
The latest attempt at holding the world's longest concert at AJ's Cafe in Ferndale became an outdoor concert suddenly, after a small fire broke out in a neon sign, causing minor smoke and electrical damage. That's keeping the acts from returning to the main stage until repairs can be made. However, cafe owner A.J. O'Neill, hopes it won't take too long.
"We need the community to come together," O'Neill told WWJ's Ron Dewey. "The musicians come on, help us. I'm waiting on an electrician to wake up, so we can get this thing remedied. I expect we'll be out here a day anyway."
Until then, musicians have taken their instruments and equipment out in front of the cafe, and the concert continues until April 3rd, apparently, no matter what.
