Fetus Found In School Ruled "Scientific Specimen''
Authorities have determined there is no foul play involved after a glass jar containing a human fetus was found in a Detroit High School. The Wayne County medical examiner's office said Friday that it is listing the fetus as a "scientific specimen.''
School district spokesman Steve Wasko said the fetus was found Wednesday in a storage area near a science classroom at Denby High School. The air-tight jar was filled with some type of liquid.
District police spoke with a teacher who uses the storage room. Wasko said it became clear that the jar and fetus predates the teacher's time at Denby.
Officials later turned the fetus over to the medical examiner's office.
