Man Arrested In Case Of Elderly Woman Tied Up, Robbed, In Farmington Hills Home
FARMINGTON HILLS (WWJ) - Farmington Hills police have made an arrest in a case of an elderly woman assaulted, tied up and robbed in her own home.
Farmington Hills officers, working in conjunction with the South Oakland Narcotics Intelligence Consortium, Western Wayne Criminal Response Team and Michigan Department of Corrections Fugitive Team, took the suspect into custody Friday morning.
He has been identified as a 46-year old resident of Redford Township.
Police say Thursday afternoon, near 12 Mile and Middlebelt on Danvers Court, the robber knocked on the victim's door, struck her in the head, tied her up and took her jewelry. She was able to free herself and call 911 after he fled.
Police believe the suspect has been involved in additional home invasions in Farmington Hills and other cities. He usually asks homeowners if they saw his "lost chocolate lab" and leaves after being told no. If no one answers the door, the man has broken into homes and stole cash, credit cards and jewelry.
He is known to drive a four-door, silver 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix.
