Elderly Woman Attacked, Robbed Of Diamond Ring In West Bloomfield

WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) - Police are investigating after an elderly woman was attacked in broad daylight at her home in West Bloomfield.

According to police, the incident happened just after noon Monday at a home in the 3000 block of Spanish Oaks Drive, in a neighborhood near West Long Lake and Middlebelt roads.

The woman told police she was assaulted by two men as she exited her vehicle inside her attached garage. During the attack, a diamond ring was forcibly taken from the woman's finger.

Police said the woman was treated at Henry Ford Hospital for injuries to her hand, but otherwise is alright.

The woman told police she believes she observed one of the suspects at a table next to her at the Village Palace Restaurant on Orchard Lake Road prior to the robbery.

The both suspects are described as 30- to 40-years-old, 5'10" to 6' tall, 200 to 250 lbs with olive or darker skin and short brown hair. The woman also told police the men were possibly speaking Arabic.
