"Don't Use This To Be Angry At The City Of Detroit," Says Wife Of Judge Shot During Robbery
DETROIT (WWJ) - Violence does not define Detroit, according to U.S. District Judge Terrence Berg -- who is still recuperating after being shot outside his Detroit home during an apparent attempted robbery in early March.
"I feel now more than ever, we've got to give our kids a good education, so they can get a job, so they can provide, so they can feel proud, so they have meaning to their life. Unfortunately, I guess these two men felt hopeless and made choices that I don't agree with and made choices that I wish they hadn't," said Anita Sevier, wife of Terrence Berg, during an interview with the Detroit Free Press.
Berg, who was shot in the leg as he retrieved a trash can at his Detroit home, he said the attack shows the city at its best and its worst.

"Don't use this to be angry at the city of Detroit - the city of Detroit is complicated," said Anita Sevier.
Sevier told the Free Press a Walk For Hope has been planned for Good Friday by members of the Gesu Catholic Parish near their University District home.
Members wanted to do something in response to what happened to Berg.
The Walk For Hope March will be held at 6 p.m. Friday. The Gesu Catholic Parish plans to open its doors about 5:30 p.m. for those who cannot march, but want to attend the prayer service afterward. March participants are asked to bring posters encouraging hope and rebuilding Detroit notes the Free Press.
