Crash Injures Woman, Claims Life Of Unborn Child

WHITEHALL TWP. (AP) - Authorities say a woman who was nine months pregnant was critically injured and her unborn child died in a West Michigan traffic crash.

The Muskegon Chronicle and WOOD-TV report 27-year-old Corinne Coulier-Buchner of Montague Township was on her way to a doctor's appointment Monday when the pickup truck she was driving rolled over in Muskegon County's Whitehall Township.

Sheriff Dean Roesler says Coulier-Buchner was last listed in critical condition Monday at a Grand Rapids hospital. He says her husband was heading to the appointment in another vehicle a few minutes behind her and stopped at the scene.

Roesler says the unborn child did not survive the crash.

The sheriff says icy road conditions in the area about 45 miles northwest of Grand Rapids likely played a role in the crash.
