Charlie Langton: The Kwame Bill- Campaign Finance Reform For Future Kwame-Like Criminals
Charlie talks with State Rep. Marty Knollenberg who introduced campaign reform legislation that would keep elected officials from using campaign funds to pay attorney fees or other liabilities stemming from criminal activities. This legislation was introduced after Kwame Kilpatrick's campaign funds were used to pay over $900,000 in restitution. Donors to political campaigns should never worry that their donations would be used to pay for criminal activities and according to Knollenberg, legislation is needed to make sure donors are protected.
