Boil Water Alert In Rochester

A boil water alert was issued Friday in the city of Rochester. Residents, mostly on the west side of the city, were experiencing low or no water pressure .
Rochester Hills City Manager Jaymes Vettraino it's due to a large water main break in a wooded area off the Clinton River Trail.
Residents on the west side of the city should use bottled or boiled water for drinking and/or cooking for the next day or two. Officials say the water is still okay to use for showering.
Vettraino says water testing will occur during the next one to two days with the goal of removing the boil water alert as soon as it is safe to do so.
