Boil Water Advisory Issued For East Lansing, Surrounding Areas

EAST LANSING (WWJ) -- A boil water advisory has been issued for residents near Lansing.

The East Lansing Meridian Water and Sewer Authority issued the advisory after there was an issue with a filter that could lead to bacteria getting into the water.

Customers of the East Lansing or Meridian Township Water Systems are being told to boil their water for one minute before drinking it.

Authorities expect the advisory to last between 24 and 48 hours. Restaurants and bars in downtown East Lansing have been told not to serve water to customers.
