"Ban The Boom Box" Rally In Roseville

ROSEVILLE (WWJ) - A group called "Ban the Boom Box" is holding a rally in Roseville Tuesday to raise awareness that there is a problem with noise in the city.

The city was actually named one of the "Noisiest Cities in America" just last year.

Residents are fed up with all the noise and want the excessive noise toned down.

Mark Roberts with "Ban the Boom Box" says he always wants to give people a voice to encourage people to speak up  and convince city council to enforce stricter rules on those with loud stereo systems.

"I've asked the city to come out and say hey look, "We're a zero tolerance city," if you get caught you'll get a one thousand dollar fine or you'll get your stereo equipment confiscated - you'll get your car impounded," says Roberts.

"I've asked Roseville city mayor, city manager, the city council for years ... to have greater enforcement of the noise ordinance law, they've really done next to nothing," adds Roberts.

The rally is being held on the corner of Gratiot and Common in Roseville at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
