MiCTA Selects ShoreTel As Endorsed Vendor: Saginaw-based MiCTA, a national non-profit technology consortium, has selected ShoreTel Inc. as an endorsed national vendor for Voice Over Internet Protocol telephony equipment. ShoreTel offers a wide range of IP telephony and unified communications equipment that are designed especially for use in the business and public sector environments. ShoreTel was named as a MiCTA endorsed national vendor following a highly competitive bidding process, in which MiCTA invites vendors to propose technology-oriented and telecommunications services and solutions on behalf of its nationwide membership. Once the evaluation process has been completed, MiCTA members may purchase telecommunications and technology-oriented products and services at volume discounts using the MiCTA contract. Besides offering significant cost savings, this approach also eliminates the need for members to conduct their own competitive bidding processes. MiCTA represents thousands of higher education, K-12, healthcare, library, governmental and charitable entities. Nationally, MiCTA seeks to resolve common voice, video and data issues, provide helpful information, participate in legislative and regulatory telecommunications advocacy, and negotiate discounted purchase contracts for telecommunications and technology services for its members. Oakland Schools Win PR Awards: Oakland Schools, the intermediate school district serving Oakland County's 28 public school districts, public school academies and non-public schools, has received three awards from the National School Public Relations Association. From a field of more than 800 entries, Oakland Schools received NSPRA's 2010 publications and electronic media awards for outstanding education publications and electronic media programs. Awards included an Excellence in Branding - Image Package for the marketing materials for the Oakland Schools Technical Campus at www.ostconline.com. Oakland Schools also won honorable mentions for its 2008-09 annual report and for its Oakland Schools Conference Center Web site at www.osevents.org. Oakland Schools' winning entries will be displayed at the national seminar in Charlotte, North Carolina in July and are listed on the NSPRA Web site, www.nspra.org.
