Auburn Hills Firm's 'Ecovisors' To Advise NYC Shoppers
For two weeks beginning July 12, the "Ecovisors" of Auburn Hills-based ecoStore USA's elite team of Ecovisors will give out 200,000 Baby Moisturizer samples that include a $1 off in-store coupon at 200 select Duane Reade drug stores in New York City.
Ecovisors will also be ready to advise Duane Reade shoppers about why making No Nasty Chemicals a part of their babies' lives is so important.
EcoStore USA launched into all Duane Reade drugstores exclusively in mid-February with a complete line of plant and mineral based products that cross from baby to personal care and household cleaning categories. In its efforts to meet increased customer demand for eco-friendly products, Duane Reade has partnered with a number of green vendors to offer safer, healthier products to their customers.
Said Joe Magnacca, president of Duane Reade: "EcoStore's latest efforts to advise our shoppers on buying green products for their babies is just one example on how effectively we have teamed up with this exciting new brand to help better serve New Yorkers."
Lyne Appel Downing, ecoStore USA's vice president of operations, joined the team as a concerned mother.
"By aligning ourselves with national organizations and groups such as Healthy Child, Healthy World, a leading NPO dedicated to the protection of our children, we know we are moving in the right direction," she said. "In addition we made the investment in having our Baby Care Line tested for safety and not only came up with perfect results but can proudly state that we are now dermatologist approved. That's huge."

The timing of the test results could not be better. New federal legislation, due to become law in September, will bring optimism to eco-progressive companies and consumers alike. The new laws call for transparency in labeling and full ingredient disclosure, which until now has not been required.
Also, the President's Cancer Panel has recently added stern warnings stating that the "true burden of environmentally induced cancer has been grossly underestimated." Track the new legislation at www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=s111-1967.
