BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP (WWJ) -- One man is dead and another person is injured after an accident involving a motorcycle on Monday.

Emergency crews were called out to the area of Hickory Grove and Aspen Lane in Bloomfield Township around 3:30 p.m. after a Suzuki motorcycle traveling westbound on Hickory Grove collided with a Ford Fiesta that was crossing the roadway from Chickering Lane.

The 37-year-old Garden City man on the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford, a 25-year-old Waterford resident, was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, though the incident remains under investigation. The man on the motorcycle was wearing a helmet.
