Woman Questions Mexican Authorities In Search For Husband's Body
DENVER (CBS4) - A Colorado woman says she's frustrated with the way authorities in Mexico are handling the search for her husband's body, but investigators say that they're doing everything they can.
David and Tiffany Hartley were jet skiing along the Texas-Mexico border in September when Tiffany says a group of people shot her husband.
The search for suspects was called off in October after one of the lead investigators was beheaded.
In a new statement to CBS News Mexican authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
Yet, Tiffany Hartley complains police aren't communicating and she doesn't understand why.
"It's very frustrating. If we could give a call to President Calderon we would. You know we would be calling to him saying, 'why isn't it important to you?' It seems to me that it would be more important to them to make sure that this is taken care of and that David is found and the investigation goes on," Hartley said.
Texas authorities said several suspects have been named. Since the crime happened across the border, they have no choice but to rely on Mexican authorities to handle it.
