Wanted: Thieves Who Stole 15 Foot Dinosaur In Northern Colorado

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - A business in Fort Collins is asking people to be on the lookout for a missing 15 foot dinosaur statue.

The dinosaur was installed a few weeks ago outside the JAX Ranch & Home store off Highway 287 on the north side of town. It was added after JAX partnered with a nearby Sinclair gas station, whose logo is a dinosaur. Many Sinclair stations have dinosaurs statues near their pumps.

The heavy green sculpture was stolen either late Wednesday night or early Thursday morning.

The manager told CBS4 someone went to a lot of trouble to haul it away. He says the thieves had to use power tools to cut bolts securing it to the ground.

A $1,000 reward (in the form of a gift card at JAX) is being offered for information that will lead police to the thieves.
