DENVER (CBS4) – Some corporations can hold religious objections that allow them to opt out of the new health law requirement that they cover contraceptives for women, according to a U.S. Supreme Court ruling.
Incumbent Democrat Sen. Mark Udall called the decision wrong, saying in a statement, "A woman's personal health decisions about choosing to use contraception ... should stay strictly between her and her doctor, not her boss."
Republican challenger U.S. Rep. Cory Gardner welcomed the ruling, saying in a statement, "The court made the right decision today to protect religious liberty and the First Amendment."
Gardner went on to say the Food and Drug Administration should make oral contraceptives available to adults without a prescription.
