The metro area has more than a dozen Goodwill stores but this one one tucked away near Glendale is considered the real gem. That's because it gets many donations from the Cherry Creek and Country Club neighborhoods. Many of Denver's most hardened bargain hunters say this is a spot they frequent. (Another Goodwill tip, also be sure to stay on top of the Goodwill Outlet Stores on Mississippi in Aurora and at 47th & Federal in Westminister. Items that don't sell at the regular stores go to these outlets to be sold by the pound.)

Savers

1200 South Abilene Street
Aurora, CO 80012

7667 West Jewell Avenue
Lakewood, CO 80232

Savers takes a lot of pride in making changes suggested by customers, both by those donating items and those purchasing them. The stores are a great place to look for seasonal items. It's particularly helpful around Halloween if you're in need of a large number of costumes for any reason.

This is thrift store aimed at the teens and college-age students. It's a really great place for jeans but again, you may need to make frequent trips to get just what you want. Persistence pays off though, you can sometimes nab nearly-new designer jeans for next to nothing. A great place for college students who need cash and a new pair of jeans for that evening out.

South Broadway Antique Row

1100-1800 S. Broadway
Denver, CO 80210

Sometimes bargain hunting is best done outdoors and South Broadway offers a great way to explore and get exercise. The store buildings are almost as interesting as the wares themselves as the sellers took over the vintage buildings. This stretch of stores has something for everyone from clothing to Depression-era glass to furniture to hand-crafted items. You'll even find a restaurant or two where you can take a much needed break.
