Take A Tour Of DIA Hotel Construction

DENVER (CBS4) - The Westin Denver International Airport hotel is set to open in November but you don't have to wait until then to check it out.

The airport is offering tours on some Fridays and Saturdays starting May 15 and ending June 20.

The tours take about 45 minutes and are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Only 15 people are allowed on each tour and you have to register online.

Because the tours are happening while construction is still underway, each will be different.

"The airport is in the home stretch of construction on the Hotel and Transit Center, and we're excited to give the public another inside look at the progress being made as we near the opening of the Westin hotel this fall," said Stu Williams, DIA's senior vice president for the Hotel and Transit Center and special projects in a news release.

The Hotel and Transit Center will open as DIA celebrates its 20th anniversary. It completes the original vision for a conference center at the airport.

DIA owns the 519-room hotel and Westin will operate it once it opens. That's scheduled for November.
