Old Times Revisited At The Golden Bee

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4) - Originally a pub in London in the 19th century, the Golden Bee tavern was reconstructed at the Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs and opened in 1961.

"The mirrors are original. All of the fixtures, the faces, the eagles, the angels -- everything is completely original," manager Michelle Garcia-O'Brien said.

This bar is a favorite with Colorado Springs locals and it offers a rousing good time. The Golden Bee is open from 11:30 am until well past midnight 365 days a year. There's piano music and singalongs starting at 8:30 p.m.

One of the more unusual things you'll find at the Bee is the opportunity to drink your beers in a glass "yard." Truly, a yard is for those who've got a designated driver or those who are actually staying at the Broadmoor.

Additional Resources

The Golden Bee doesn't take reservations.

To get there, take the Circle Drive exit from I-25 in Colorado Springs and follow it west as it turns into Lave Ave. The Golden Bee is located one block from the main entrance to the hotel.
