Missing Hiker Found Dead In Chaffee County
BUENA VISTA, Colo. (AP) - A hiker missing since Sunday in Chaffee County has been found dead.
KRDO-TV in Colorado Springs reports that the body 61-year-old Wayne Kirkbride of Monument was discovered Tuesday. The retired U.S. Army Special Forces lieutenant colonel disappeared on a hike near Mount Antero.
There was no immediate word how Kirkbride died. A U.S. Army helicopter and search dogs helped with the search.
