Meeting Could Be Last Chance For Opinions On I-70 Changes
DENVER (CBS4) - A community meeting about proposed changes along Interstate 70 will be held Wednesday evening and it could be the last chance for residents to share their opinions.
The I-70 project is more than a decade in the making and the Colorado Department of Transportation says within the next year or two they will have to finalize the plan.
CDOT says they have considered more than 90 alternatives over the course of the project.

The proposed plan now would affect the area along I-70 between I-25 and Tower Road. The plan would lower portions of the interstate and raise and cover other parts. It will also add several lanes along the area.
CDOT says they had to do something because the 50-year-old bridge between Brighton and Colorado boulevards is decaying. They say the new plan will relieve congestion along that strip and make it easier to get on and off the highway.
The construction hasn't been without criticism. Homeowners in the area have been vocal about what the impact the new plan will have on their neighborhoods.
Wednesday evening's meeting is another opportunity for those with concerns to be heard. It will focus on the York Street closure and changes to Vasquez and Colorado boulevards.
The meeting will take place at Bruce Randolph Middle School located at 3955 Steele Street in Denver from 6-8 p.m. CDOT says they expect to make a final decision about the project in 2016.
