March Ties For 8th Least Snowiest

Written by Meteorologist Dave Aguilera The final numbers are in for March 2011. Up until the last week of the month Denver had only received 0.4 inches of snow. That would have put the month down as the 2nd Least Snowiest March since 1882.

And then one of several fast moving March cold fronts finally had enough punch to drop 2.1 inches of snow on the 28th and 29th. That put the month in a tie for the 8th Least Snowiest March ever recorded with 2.5 inches.

As far as precipitation goes, the month finished up with 0.35 inches -- more than enough to keep the city out of the Top 10 driest. The 10th Driest March on record is 0.26 inches in 1997.
