Maketa Retrial Ends In Partial Mistrial Again
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - The retrial of a former El Paso County sheriff has ended in a partial mistrial, for a second time.
Terry Maketa is accused of threatening to end a healthcare contract at the jail unless the company fired an employee.
A jury found Maketa not guilty of official misconduct, but they were hung on the extortion charges on Monday afternoon.
Prosecutors haven't yet said if they will retry the case for a third time.
