FRISCO, Colo. (CBS4) - A big logging project is under way to remove trees hit by the mountain pine beetle in Summit County.

Crews started cutting down trees on the Frisco peninsula Monday. It's a popular recreation spot devastated by beetles.

People can still camp, hike and bike, but expect to see heavy machinery into the fall.
