Record Cold Hits As Snow Moves Out
DENVER (CBS4) - Our quick-moving snow-maker is on its way out of Colorado and will leave behind bitter cold temperatures that will last all weekend.
Skies are clearing across the region. This is already sending temperatures tumbling back into below zero territory again. Denver has already broken the record low of -13 degrees set in 1909!
Temperatures across Colorado will be dangerously cold Saturday night. Wind chill factors across the Front Range and eastern plains will be ranging from 30 to 40 below zero through Sunday morning.. Please remember to bring the pets in and cover up if you are out and about. When the air temperature gets this cold extended exposure to bare skin can lead to frost bite and hypothermia if protective measures are not taken.

The moisture packed cold blast turned out to be a lot stronger than all of the snow models were indicating. The cold temperatures of Friday set the stage for the arrival of a low pressure trough to swing through Friday night. The storm system opened up between 8pm Friday and 3am Saturday. Dropping as much as 4 to 12 inches of snow in and around the Denver metro area.

Bronco Sunday will be filled with sunshine but, the cold will remain in place with a kick-off temperature around 27!

Monday and Tuesday will get back above freezing with sunshine to start next week in Denver.
