Get Ready For A Hot Week...Lots Of 90s

By Lauren Whitney

DENVER (CBS4) - A quick cool down on Sunday gave us a little break from the heat, but that didn't last for long. Temperatures soared to the low 90s and upper 80s for eastern Colorado. We won't get another break from this heat for awhile, we're going to stay in the 90s all week.

The normal high temperature in Denver during the first week of June is about 78°. So we'll stay more than 10 degrees above normal this week. The hottest day will likely be Tuesday with highs in the mid 90s which is enough to put the record high for June 5 in jeopardy. That record is 95° set in 1946. Anything above 94° would also make Tuesday the hottest day so far this year.

Overall, this will be a pretty dry week in Colorado. There is a chance for a few isolated storms, with most staying out on the eastern plains. We can't rule out a stray storm or two in the Denver area as well.

Find a way to stay cool this week, stay hydrated, and wear your sunscreen if you're outside. We are in for a hot week!
