A Nice December Weekend, Then Winter Roars Into Town
By Ed Greene
DENVER (CBS4) - Friday held only flurries for Denver metro with an inch or two from Castle Rock to the south. The official high only reached 33 degrees. Skies will clear overnight with a low in the teens by morning. Sunny to partly sunny skies for your Saturday with amore seasonal high in the lower 40s. Fair on Sunday and slightly warmer - look for a high in the upper 40s.
Monday will start out sunny and the high will be back in the mid to upper 40s, but as the day goes on expect increasing cloudiness and late on Monday, probably well after dark, the snow will begin. Tuesday with see 3 to 5 inches on snow with much colder temperatures - not out of the lower 20s. Wednesday will see the snow moving out but the cold air stays with us - maybe with a high not out of the teens! It is also worth mentioning that at this point, some forecast models are indicating that the center of this storm may not come as far south as first thought...if that is the case, we'll still be cold but not a great deal of snow. Stay tuned!
Partly sunny skies on Thursday and a high still not above the freezing mark as we only top out in the mid to upper 20s. Friday will see a return to sunshine and seasonal temperatures - look for a high in the mid 40s.
