Investigators Search For Cause Of 2-Alarm Fire On Boulder's Pearl Street Mall
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Investigators are trying to figure out what caused a 2-alarm fire at a business located along the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder.
The fire broke out at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Oak at Fourteenth restaurant. The blaze shut down part of the Pearl Street Mall and 14th Street in Boulder for a couple of hours.
Fire crews believe the fire started in the kitchen and spread to the roof. Firefighters had a difficult time fighting the fire because the flames were trapped between floors.
"There's a lot of places for the fire to hide, so they're chasing the fire and that is what they spent a lot of time on," said Boulder Police spokeswoman Kim Kobel.
Boulder police hope to have an exact cause for the fire by Friday.
