House Fire In Conifer Sends One Person To The Hospital

CONIFER, Colo. (CBS4) - One person was transported to the hospital after a house fire in Conifer Tuesday morning.

Deputy Fire Chief Jacob Ware with the Elk Creek Fire Department said the person who was hurt is a civilian, not a firefighter, and was in stable condition by the time of arrival at the hospital.

The walls and roof of the house at 11153 Conifer Mountain Road eventually collapsed and the entire structure was deemed a loss.

The initial call came in at 9 a.m.

Chief Ware said the fire extended into vegetation around the home but was contained.

Personnel and equipment from neighboring agencies - North Fork Fire, Evergreen Fire, Platte Canyon Fire - assisted Elk Creek's operation.
