Gay Rights Group Pressuring Businesses
DENVER (AP) -- A gay rights group is trying to pressure businesses to sever links to organizations like Focus on the Family over allegations the organizations promote anti-gay hate groups.
Focus vice president Gary Schneeberger says retailers should not take political stands.
According to the Denver Post, gay rights activists are urging shoppers to sever retail links with an online hub called Charity Give Back Group.
The group allows online shoppers to authorize a percentage of their purchase to go to the charity of their choice, including Colorado Springs- based Focus.
