Funeral For Ex-Rockies Hurler Castillo Set For Tuesday

EL PASO, Texas (AP) - Funeral services for former major league pitcher Frank Castillo, who drowned in an Arizona lake after jumping off a boat for a swim, are set for Tuesday in his hometown of El Paso.

The El Paso Times reports Castillo's service will be at St. Raphael's Parish Church.

Authorities say the 44-year-old Castillo drowned July 28 at Bartlett Lake near Phoenix. A dive team recovered his body Monday.

Castillo had an 82-104 record in 13 major league seasons and won a World Series with the Red Sox in 2004. He also pitched for the Chicago Cubs, Colorado, Detroit, Toronto and Florida from 1991 to 2005 before retiring. He lived in the Phoenix suburb of Scottsdale.

The Red Sox held a moment of silence for Castillo earlier this week.
