Former Professor In Prison On Sex Charge Denied Parole
DENVER (AP) - A former University of Northern Colorado professor who police said secretly videotaped male students in his home bathroom has been denied parole.
The Denver Post reports that Vance Fulkerson was denied parole Wednesday by the parole board at the Bent County Correctional Facility in Las Animas. He is serving four years for felony sexual exploitation of children after pleading guilty last year.
State corrections officials say parole was deferred for one year.
The theater professor was arrested after a student found a video camera inside a digital clock in the bathroom of Fulkerson's Greeley home. He resigned his tenured position after 18 years on the faculty.
Fulkerson had been credited with boosting the credibility and national profile of UNC's theater program.
