Firefighter Suffers Minor Injury While Battling House Fire

DENVER (CBS4) - A Denver firefighter suffered burns to his ears on Saturday at the scene of a house fire.

His gear was also burned in the intense heat.

Approximately 40 firefighters were on the scene of the home on South Mariposa Street and West Louisiana Avenue in the morning.

Fire crews said the fire was tough to fight because there was some ammunition in the house.

Witnesses described the flames as intense.

"The fire was probably a good 25 feet when it really got going," said Dennis Flippin. "That fire (got) hot."

Three people were inside when the fire started. They all got out safely.

The firefighter who was hurt was treated on the scene.
