Colorado Springs Fire Chief Cancels On-Duty Fundraising
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - The interim fire chief for Colorado Springs is barring firefighters from spending their Labor Day weekend shifts raising money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
A spokesman for the firefighters' union says firefighters will do their fundraising on their own time.
Union spokesman Jeremy Kroto says on-duty firefighters have always been available for emergency response within their districts.
According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, Interim Chief Rich Brown did not return phone calls
