Family Of Kit Carson Crash Victims Thanks Community
KIT CARSON, Colo. (CBS4) - A family on the Eastern Plains has said thanks to the community for their support after suffering an incredible loss.
On Thursday Howard Mitchell and his 12 adopted children were in an accident near the town of Kit Carson. Their van slammed into a cattle hauler. Mitchell and five of the children were killed.
In a statement family members said the seven other children were hurt, but are recovering. They said they would like to thank the community and a wide circle of caring friends who have reached out to the family. Including, but not limited to, first responders, Flight for Life and hospital personnel.
