Englewood Police Investigate String Of Burglaries Along South Broadway

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Englewood are investigating a string of burglaries along South Broadway.

The burglaries range from Yale Avenue to E. Belleview Avenue.

Detectives say the thieves are getting in by breaking windows and stealing cash registers. In several of the cases, the suspects are tampering with alarms prior to making entry, causing the alarms to malfunction and not notify the alarm company.

All the burglaries happened overnight roughly after midnight to 6 a.m. when the businesses are closed.

Police don't believe all the cases are connected. Detectives are reviewing surveillance footage from several of the victim businesses in an effort to identify possible suspects and additional information.

Police patrols of this area have been increased in an effort to apprehend the suspects and deter further burglaries.
