DIA Sees Record 52 Million Passengers

DENVER (AP) - Denver International Airport has set a record with more than 52 million travelers recorded last year.

Last year's total of 52.2 million people was an increase of nearly 2 percent over the number of travelers in 2008, the previous record.

Airport officials say 4.2 million travelers went through the Denver airport in December. It was the 16-year-old airport's busiest December.

The airport also had its busiest day in 2010. The airport logged 177,792 passengers on June 1, which is about 1,500 more passengers than the previous busiest day -- July 6, 2008.
