Denver Independent Police Monitor Takes Job In Vancouver
DENVER (CBS4) - Denver's independent police monitor is leaving for a similar job in Vancouver, Canada.
Over the past 6 years Richard Rosenthal has been the civilian watchdog of the police department, weighing in on police shootings and other disciplinary matters.
Rosenthal ruffled some feathers this year for questioning how few Denver officers are arrested for drunk driving.
In a statement, Rosenthal said he hopes Denver's new manager of safety, police chief, and next independent monitor can work together to effectively police the city.
