Denver City Council Repeals Impound Ordinance
DENVER (CBS4) - Drivers in Denver who forget their licenses at home will no longer be forced to make a trip to the Denver impound lot.
The Denver City Council on Monday voted 9 to 1 in favor of repealing Initiative 100.
Under the law, any driver without a valid license when pulled over could have had their vehicle impounded. It costs about $2,500 to get it back.
The change takes effect Aug. 1.
