Colorado Is State Of All Seasons For July 4th
DENVER (AP) -- On one end of Colorado, holiday travelers who want to hike or camp Colorado's high country are being warned of waist-high snow in spots and potential avalanches.
At the other end, camp fires are prohibited on some national forests and other lands because the slightest spark could turn the tinder-dry trees, bushes and grass into a raging wildfire.
And rafting and tubing are prohibited on parts of rivers that are running high and quickly.
Fire restrictions and fireworks bans are in place in wide, parched stretches of southern Colorado and the Front Range.
In Rocky Mountain National Park, some trails and roads are dry and others are snowpacked. Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson urges people to check the park website for conditions and closures.
