Charges Filed In Case Of Teen Set On Fire

DENVER (CBS4/AP)- Denver prosecutors have filed formal charges against nine people after an attack on a 14-year-old boy who was set on fire.

Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey said Friday that eight adults and one juvenile were charged in connection with the Feb. 14 attack that left the boy with serious injuries. The eight adults face various charges, but all are charged with child abuse. Four of the adults also face a charge of attempted second-degree murder.

Erick Perez, 20, is charged with attempted second degree murder, two counts of child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, attempting to influence a public servant, intimidating a witness/victim.

Damian Sibayan, 18, is charged with attempted second degree murder and two counts of child abuse.

Cody Cummings, 19, is charged with attempted second degree murder, two counts of child abuse, contributing to a delinquency of a minor, intimidating a witness/victim, and misdemeanor child abuse.

David Ingram, 19, is charged with attempted second degree murder, two counts of child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and tampering with physical evidence.

Michael Bellefeuille, 21, is charged with child abuse, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and tampering with a witness or victim.

Joshua Baffo, 19, is charged with felony child abuse and misdemeanor child abuse.

Robert Freeman, 19, is charged with child abuse.

Robert Rieneau, 20, is charged with child abuse.

Details on charges faced by the juvenile weren't released.

The nine who were charged were being held Friday on bond amounts ranging from $50,000 to $150,000. They are due in court Tuesday to be advised of the charges.
