Camp Fire Believed To Have Sparked Maxwell Wildfire
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - The U.S. Forest Service says a fire in a canyon north of Boulder is believed to have started with a camp fire.
Spokeswoman Elsha Kirby said Tuesday there are no suspects. She said the fire is about 40 percent contained and was restricted to about 60 acres Tuesday in Lefthand Canyon.
The Boulder Office of Emergency Management says flareups are expected Tuesday as temperatures soar back into the 90s.
About 200 people are fighting the fire and two helicopters and two single-engine air tankers are on hand if they're needed.
Residents of about 340 homes are still on standby to evacuate if the fire gets closer.
