Brighton Firefighter Accused In Abuse Case
DENVER (AP) - The Boulder County district attorney is reviewing allegations that Brighton police turned a blind eye to allegations of domestic abuse against a Brighton firefighter.
Stan Garnett has been appointed a special prosecutor in the case. Police were called to the couple's home after incidents three times in late 2010 and early 2011, but no charges were filed until May.
Randy Cleveland is accused of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
Brighton police spokesman John Bradley told the Denver Post that allegations that police gave Cleveland special treatment are false.
