Boeing Unit In Colorado Gets $49.4M Defense Contract
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A Boeing Co. unit based in Colorado Springs has been awarded a $49.4 million defense contract for software engineering and other services for a military communications satellite.
Boeing said Tuesday its mission operations group will do the work for the Army Contracting Command. The company says 10 people will work on the project initially but others are expected to join later.
Some of the work will also be done by Boeing's office in El Segundo, Calif.
The work is for the Wideband Global Satellite Communications System satellite, which is used by all four branches of the military along with the White House, the State Department and others.
