Stolen Vehicle Suspect Runs Away From Crash On I-25 Near Berthoud

BERTHOUD (CBS4) -- Colorado State Patrol responded to a crash involving a stolen vehicle on Interstate 25 near Berthoud Monday morning. A suspect ran away from the scene, and the crash caused a large backup before it cleared during the morning commute.

According to CSP, state troopers were near mile marker 250 in southbound lanes of I-25, where a stolen 2018 Ford SUV was involved in a crash with a 2017 Hyundai SUV. The suspect got away from the scene after leaving the stolen vehicle.

It was unknown exactly how the other vehicle was involved in the crash, but no one in that SUV was injured.

There was at least one lane blocked on I-25 southbound between Highways 60 and 56 due to the crash before the crash cleared just after 7 a.m.
