2 Dead In Canon City Neighborhood Dispute

CANON CITY, Colo. (AP) - Canon City police say a 32-year-old man is dead after being shot by a neighbor during a dispute. Police said the neighbor later committed suicide.

Canon City Police Capt. Allen Cooper says police responded to a report of a shooting Sunday and found 32-year-old Leo George Pewitt with two gunshot wounds, one to the chest and one to a leg.

Pewitt was taken to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs where he later died from his wounds, according to the Pueblo Chieftain.

Police said witnesses told them that 51-year-old Dennis Abraham shot Pewitt with a shotgun before turning the weapon on himself and committing suicide.
