2 Bodies Found In Plane Wreck In Mountains

EDWARDS, Colo. (AP/CBS4) - Authorities say two people have been found dead in the wreckage of a small plane in the Colorado mountains.

The Eagle County Sheriff's Department says the victims were found Thursday. Their names haven't been released.

The plane's registered owner lives in Brownwood, Texas, but it's unknown whether the owner was aboard when it crashed on Wednesday.

Sheriff's spokeswoman Kris Friel says authorities confirmed the wreckage was a twin-engine Beech 60 Duke that disappeared from radar on Wednesday when it was preparing to land at the Eagle County airport.

A National Guard helicopter crew located the wreckage Thursday about 3 1/2 miles north of Edwards.

The plane crashed in steep terrain at an elevation of about 10,800 feet.
